Pretty much everyone has a go to spaghetti recipe. Spaghetti is one of those comfort dishes that whether you use just a standard jar of pasta sauce or you make it from scratch every time, you probably have a recipe for it. I typically just ‘doctor up’ my jarred pasta sauce because it’s just easier to do that than it is to make it from scratch every single time. Also, the ONE POT aspect of this dish is probably my favorite, just because, I don’t like to do dishes and if you have some of these ‘one pot’ recipes lying around, it’s super easy to get away from the dishes. Now, my toddler loves spaghetti, so, it’s a recipe that I frequent. When I made this particular pot of spaghetti, I wanted to do something a little different than traditional spaghetti or my baked spaghetti. Yesterday was crazy busy, have y’all ever tried to take a 2 year old who needs a nap shoe shopping? If you haven’t, I don’t recommend it. Like, I’m pretty sure if I hadn’t been ready to leave when my daughter had a meltdown, that we totally would’ve gotten kicked out of the shoe store. Toddler momming is no joke, I’m pretty sure it could be considered an extreme sport. Anyway, yesterday was one of those crazy days that I just needed some comfort food, and that’s what my daughter requested. She ate 2 full plates of this and her dad did too, and my sister in law loved it…. I’m going to call that a win for sure. We loveee our cheesy pasta dishes, like, cheese is our life with pretty much any kind of pasta dish. My point to all of this is that no matter how you make your spaghetti, try to make it how your family will like it, make it in one pot, and put some cheese with it. Ready to make it? Here’s the recipe!
Best Ever One Pot Spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 pound spaghetti noodles
1 small red onion- chopped
1 20-24oz jar of pasta sauce any brand and flavor will work
1/4 cup whipped cream cheese like this one
1/2 cup of sliced fresh mozzarella cheese
1 tsp of minced garlic
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt to taste
Cook and drain the pasta according to package instructions do not rinse it
Place some oil in the same pot you cooked the pasta in and add the chopped onion.
Cook the onion down until translucent then add the ground beef in pieces
Once the ground beef is browned, add your garlic and stir
Once the garlic is incorporated well add your jar of pasta sauce, stir it all together and cover the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes stirring infrequently
Once the sauce has simmered, add the cooked pasta and stir to make sure every noodle is covered
Once all the noodles are covered, add your cream cheese and stir well until it’s all incorporated
After the cream cheese is melted into the spaghetti, add the mozzarella and cover, stir to combine the melted mozzarella and serve!
